Have you ever thought about the words that are used during this time of year? JOY to the world, MERRY Christmas, HAPPY holidays, PEACE, LOVE, the list goes on and on. Isn’t that lovely? Well, it should be, but for many people, this time of year brings words like DISPAIR, LONLINESS, REGRET, SADNESS, and GRIEF.
While some people scurry around the malls, attend Christmas parties, watch warm and cozy family movies, wrap presents, and look forward to “The Big Day”, others are alone in their homes filled with depression wondering how they are even going to get themselves dressed and wondering if it is even worth carrying on at all.
There is any number of reasons that people are so down during this time. It could be financial reasons, loss of a loved one, separation from family, or even painful childhood memories, but whatever the reason, the result can leave a person feeling dark and gloomy even in the midst of all the sparkling lights.
The need to feel better, or feel normal is so overwhelming that quick fixes like drugs or alcohol seem like a solution. But we know all too well that this path leads to a spiral that can be nearly impossible to escape from.
I would like to offer a suggestion, I will not be so bold to say it’s the solution, but it can give you many positive results. Of course, I am referring to reflexology. See, reflexology addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person, so the whole person is positively affected. Because I am interested in each of my clients, I get to know them and get to know their needs. For someone struggling with emotional issues, I would use a more comforting technique versus the type of treatment I may give if they were experiencing a physical issue. My techniques get the energy flowing so the energy goes where it is needed. By using a gentler, loving, caring treatment the result is a good feeling. Think of it this way – have you ever just needed a hug? That simple act of feeling held and embraced can completely change the way we view a single moment, or an entire day! My treatments take that “hug” and grow the results exponentially! I am sure you have heard that a painting says more than a 1000 words, so does our hands. We can express love, kindness, support, understanding and so much more. When I work with clients I always visualize my hands being an extension of my heart, beating on the outside, in this way I focus all my attention for the issue that is troubling the client, infused with kindness and attentiveness. I always adapt to my clients tolerance level and their level of responsiveness. What I am always looking for is that deep sigh that tells me that my client has finally “let go” of an emotional disturbing feeling or physical pain. Now the healing starts.
If you or someone you know is struggling with any of the negative feelings we discussed, I would like to offer some help. I am offering a 10% discount to the first 10 people who book an appointment between now and December 31. Come see and feel the difference for yourself! It may be the best thing you have done for yourself or someone you know in a long time.
