Reflexology offers a safe, effective and non-invasive answer to almost all conditions that might appear during pregnancy. Reflexology helps to a great extent with the presentation of symptoms and treatment when conditions and symptoms might appear. Pregnancy should never be considered to be an ailment or a burden.
Pregnancy is a very special time in a woman’s life! One where symptoms and conditions are only waiting for the best scenario to appear. It’s a long period, sometimes tedious and often tiring. It’s involves having emotions, fear, responsibilities, anxiety and stress is among the many feelings a woman might experience during her pregnancy.
A lot of effort and time has been put into educating the mother to be in order to have a safe and enjoyable pregnancy, and to create the best environment for a safe and successful birth. For the mother as she gains quality of life and as a direct consequence the baby grows in a harmonic environment.
Being pregnant is one of the most special times in a woman’s life. Hormonal changes occur which provoke alterations in many physiological functions. Reflexology can help to restore homeostasis most of the time. Treating conditions, alleviating and stimulating, the whole body, mind and spirit. Reflexology is very beneficial when symptoms might appear, such as:
Anaemia, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, oedema, blood pressure regulation, constipation, haemorrhoids and backache to mention just a few.
My client Kelley came to see me when she was about 61/2 months pregnant to alleviate her sore back and hips. She felt she benefited greatly from our weekly sessions and she is her testimonial.
“I had the pleasure of working with Lis during my second and third trimester of my pregnancy. With this being my first baby, my body was constantly changing and my back and hips began to feel a lot of discomfort and pain. After seeing a chiropractor unsuccessfully for over six weeks I thought I would try some reflexology as I heard good things and it seemed to relate to my belief systems about how the body and mind is connected.
To my surprise, from the very first visit I felt a big change. My back and hips almost immediately started to feel loose allowing more movement and much less pain. I also felt an incredible sense of relaxation before, after, and during our sessions which was something I began to really look forward to on a weekly basis.
I delivered a healthy, beautiful baby boy on April 5th, 2010 one day after my due date. Three days prior I had seen Lis and asked her to do a treatment specifically to help along and perhaps induce labour as I was ready to give birth. I remember leaving the session feeling almost light headed and so relaxed and at peace. Lis mentioned to me that she worked on my uterus and used a lot of compassion during our session and to this day I truly believe she did. It was one of the most powerful and beautiful sessions we had ever shared.
My labour and birth was nothing short of incredible. I was in labour for just under seven hours from start to finish and was able to endure the whole process drug free. It was the hardest test I had ever put my body through physically, and I was able to meditate through the very intense and frequent contractions. My sister and husband who were by my side the whole time said it was almost as if I had left the room during the contractions as my mind and focus went to another place.
I believe my labour and delivery story was as successful as it was because of the work I had done with Lis during my pregnancy. Reflexology prepared me for the birth of my son not only physically, but mentally and spiritually. Being connected to your body the way you are in a session with Lis brings great benefits to your health and I am forever grateful for having her in my life.”
